Background:
The Integrated Women and Children's Development Activities (IWCDA) is a charitable/non profit organization legally registered as a community based Organization and is mandated to operate in Iganga.  Founded in 2007, Integrated Women and Children's Development Activities was born out of women and children's frustration of gender inequalities in social, Economic, Cultural and political spheres of life hence the emphasis on women and children rights promotion and advocacy.

Mission:
Prevention and protection of women and children rights abuse and neglect through research and advocacy, capacity building and networking with other organizations as well as service delivery, working with women, children and communities for sustained impact.

Vision:
A society where incidences of women and child rights abuses are reduced.

Values:
• Community empowerment, self realization and participation in change
• Integrity, trust, openness, equity, justice
• Transparency, commitment, team spirit, objectivity

Objectives
1. To alert and impress upon government and other bodies, conditions affecting women and children in Eastern Uganda;

2. To work with other non governmental organizations which have an interest in the welfare of women and children to promote the rights of women and children;

3. To carry out advocacy and sensitization for women and child rights particularly as set out in the CEDAW, UN convention on the rights of women and children, the African charter on the rights and welfare of women and children and the Uganda constitution and Children Statute[1996];

4. To conduct situation analysis on the state and nature of women and child abuse and neglect in Uganda and publish findings periodically;

5. To provide a forum for exchange of research information on the problems affecting women and children in Eastern Uganda; and

6. To serve as a national center for prevention and protection against women and child abuse and neglect as well as for the promotion of defense and advocacy of women and child rights.
